My soul cries out
snared by the beauty
of the formless one.
As I cry by myself,
night and day,
beauty amassed before my eyes
surpasses numberless moons and suns.
If I look at the clouds in the sky,
I see his beauty afloat;
and I see him walk on the stars
blazing my heart.

From the Gospel of Ramakrishna

God has made different religions to suit different aspirations, times and countries. All doctrines are only so many path; but a path is by no means God himself. Indeed, we can reach God if we follow any of the paths with whole-hearted devotion. One may eat a cake with icing either straight or sidewise. It will taste sweet either way.
As we can ascend to the top of a house by ladder or bamboo or a staircase or a rope, so diverse are the ways to approach God and every religion shows one of these ways.
People partition off their lands by means of boundaries, but no one can partition off the all-embracing sky overhead. The indivisible sky surrounds all and includes all. So people in ignorance say, "My religion is the only one, my religion is the best." But when the heart is illumined by true knowledge it knows that above all of the sects and sectarians presides the one indivisible eternal all-knowing bliss.
As a mother, in nursing her sick children, gives rice and curry to one, and sago and arrowroot to another, and bread and butter to a third, so the Lord has laid out different paths for different people.

Kabir says: Student, tell me, what is God?
He is the breath inside the breath.
        Kabir

There's a moon in my body, but I can't see it!
A moon and a sun.
A drum never touched by hands, beating, and I can't hear it!
As long as a human being worries about when he will die,
and what he has that is his,
all of his works are zero.
When affection for the I-creature and what it owns is dead,
then the work of the Teacher is over.

The purpose of labor is to learn;
when you know it, the labor is over.
The apple blossom exists to create fruit; when that

comes, the petal falls.
The musk is inside the deer, but the deer does not
look for it:
it wander around looking for grass

        Kabir

All things must come to the soul from its roots,
from where it is planted.
The tree that is beside the running water
is fresher and gives more fruit.

         St. Teresa of Avila

Everything that God,
the source and substance of all,

creates in this world
flows naturally from the essence
of God's divine nature.

Creation is not a choice
but a necessity.
It is God's nature
to unfold time and space.

Creation is the extension of God.
Creation is God encountered in time and space.
Creation is the infinite in the garb of the finite.

To attend to creation is to attend to God.
To attend to the moment is to attend to eternity.
To attend to the part is to attend to the whole.
To attend to Reality is to live constructively.

God Speaks to the Soul

And God said to the soul:
I desired you before the world began.
I desire you now
As you desire me.
And where the desires of two come together
There love is perfected.

How the soul Speaks to God

Lord, you are my lover,
My longing,
My flowing stream,
My sun,
And I am your reflection.

How God answers the Soul

It is my nature that makes me love you often,
For  I am love itself.
It is my longing that makes me love you intensely,
For I yearn to be loved from the heart.
It is my eternity that makes me love you long,
For I have no end.
