Along the Way... to Arrive ~~
The first utterance about
Truth Whatever the present moment contains - accept it as if you had chosen it. Accept - then act. Always work with it, not against it. Make the present your friend and ally, not your opponent. This will miraculously transform your whole life--Eckhart Tolle Realization is already here. All that is necessary is to get rid of the thought 'I have not realized'.---Ramana Maharshi
Maya does such a good job
of fooling us! There is a story about a war that is described in one of
the sacred texts...During this war the demons were destroying the world.
The gods go to the Gods, which are *Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, and tell
them, "The demons are really messing with us this time. You've got
to help." The three talk it over, and Vishnu says, "Okay, I've got
a plan. I'll incarnate as a beautiful woman and go down there and tempt
the demons and arrange for their demise." And Vishnu does it. He turns
into Mohini, who is an incredibly attractive, sensuous woman, and he
easily When Vishnu returns to heaven, he forgets to turn himself back into Vishnu. He's still this fantastically seductive woman. Brahma takes one look at Mohini and he totally forgets everything. He just stars lusting and groping, and going after her. Meanwhile Shiva is roaring with laughter. "Brahma, what are you doing? This is Vishnu!" The point is that Maya, the playful illusion is so perseverant and so full, that even though we know it's a play, we believe it. We buy into it as real. Maya can even fool Brahma, the creator of the world. Prashanti *The god Brahma is not to be confused with Brahman the formless, infinite substratum of being and emptiness. Give up the search for something to happen and fall in love, fall intimately in love with the gift of presence in 'what is'.--Tony Parsons If you truly want to see God, then take a look around. Everything you see, touch, taste, think, hear, feel, know or imagine is God!!--Wayne Liquorman Everything is grace. When we say yes to what is, we say yes to grace.--Francis Lucille The sense that things should be other than they are, is suffering.--Wayne Liquorman Whatever actions happens, whether you eat ice cream or meditate, at that moment you could not have done otherwise.--Ramesh Balsekar Life, as it is, the only teacher.---Charlotte Joko Beck Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.---Rabindranath Tagore You are the teacher you've been waiting for.--Byron Katie For Zen students a weed is a treasure.--Shunryu Suzuki With some, realization comes imperceptibly, but somehow they need convincing. They have changed, but they do not notice it. Such non-spectacular cases are often the most reliable.---Nisargadatta If you WILL conceive of a Buddha, you WILL BE OBSTRUCTED BY THAT BUDDHA!!! And when you conceive of sentient beings, you will be obstructed by those beings. All such dualistic concepts as 'ignorant' and 'Enlightened', 'pure' and 'impure', are obstructions.---Huang Po Seeking to duplicate the so-called enlightened condition of other characters in the play is a distraction from your true nature...You are already completely wide awake and aware right now.---Nathan Gill Find out who it is who has free will or predestination and abide in that state. Then both are transcended. That is the only purpose in discussing these questions. To whom do such questions present themselves? Discover that and be at peace. --Ramana Maharshi There is no such thing as an enlightened person for who is it that can become that which already is? There is simply seeing and not seeing. Seeing does not come about through something gained but rather through an illusion lost. What you are looking for is that which already sees.---Tony Parsons People often ask me if I'm an enlightened being. I don't know anything about that. I am just someone who knows the difference between this hurts and this doesn't. I am someone who only wants "what is".---Byron Katie If you need time to achieve something, it must be false. The real is always with you; you need not wait to be what you are. Only you must not allow your mind to go out of yourself in search. ---Nisargadatta There is no “I” to get enlightened. That’s illusion. There’s only being here with what’s here without division. Eyes open. Eyes and ears open, to let everything reveal itself as it is. And maybe feel this Love. In loveness with life, as it is. ---Toni Packer Enlightenment is not something you achieve. It is the absence of something. All your life you have been going forward after something, pursuing some goal. Enlightenment is dropping all that. ---Charlotte Joko Beck There is absolutely nothing real in the way. What appears to be in the way is that you imagine yourself on the way somewhere. ---Scott Morrison You need no more experiences. The past ones are sufficient...It is not experience that you need, but the freedom from all experience. Don't be greedy for experience; you need none. ---Nisargadatta If there is anything- any person, any behavior, any circumstance, any situation, any place, anything that you do not see as God, that's where the work is. The world is exactly as it should be. Everything is God. Everything is good. The only time we suffer is when we believe a thought that argues with what is. When I argue with reality, I lose-- Byron Katie The mesmerizing seductiveness of the dream is seen in the long-standing belief that, someday, (if the dreamer only plays his cosmic cards right), he will, eventually, "awaken." But, in truth, the so-called "Enlightenment Bus" that he's been waiting for will never show up for him. Why? Well in expecting that some future awakening may occur for him somewhere in time, he's only reinforcing the belief that the very same Consciousness he is seeking is not 100% fully present for him... right here and now. --- Chuck Hillig There is no reaching the Self. If Self were to be reached, it would mean that the Self is not here and now, but that it has yet to be obtained. What is got afresh will also be lost...You are the Self; you are already That.---Ramana Maharshi To enjoy the world without judgment is what a realized life is like. ---Charlo |
